About
Kelli Nyman is an abstract artist living in Cambridge, MA. Nyman is interested in using paper - an object that can be seen as clutter - and transforming it into something orderly and vast. Using paper as her palette, she folds, cuts, and assembles minimalist sculptural “paintings” focused on color, texture, form, and interaction with light.
Her practice is both process-driven and intuitive, incorporating precision and intention as well as the spontaneity of freehand manipulations. The techniques vary and evolve, but consistently emphasize feelings of movement, rhythm, calm, and spaciousness.
Nyman’s work is held in the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s permanent collection and has been commissioned by corporate clients including the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, DC and McKinsey & Company in Boston, MA.
