Joanne Simon is a Londoner living in Boston, whose inspiration comes from topical issues, such as climate change and political polarization, and timeless themes, such as hope, love and resilience. With repeated passes through the press, she explores texture, depth and hue, often deliberately extending the image beyond the plate’s impression, expanding the compositional plane. Combining a range of printmaking techniques, a delicate line, multi-layered color palette, and balance, her works can be read as visual commentary on our time.
